Demi Sweeney, 22, from Bournemouth, could not leave her room because she feared the eight-legged creature would drop down on her when she passed
AN arachnophobic woman hatched an ingenious plan to remove a huge spider from her house – by roping in a KFC delivery driver.
Demi Sweeney, a 22-year-old criminology student at Bournemouth University, felt trapped after spotting the critter outside her room and needed help.
Demi tweeted about her ordeal and told BuzzFeed she feared the spider might drop onto her if she passed by.
One suggested ordering food on Deliveroo and asking the delivery driver to remove the beast.
She decided to get KFC and added a note on her order: “I have spoken to Deliveroo customer service, please can you help to remove a spider for me”.
Twenty minutes later, her fried chicken arrived.
But it turned out the delivery driver was scared of spiders too.
Demi said: “He asked how big it was and said he would give it a go, asking where it was.”
To her horror the creature dropped onto the floor and started scuttling away, but it was caught by the driver who then flushed it down the toilet.
She said: “I thanked him around 50 times, he kept saying this is so funny whilst laughing.
“I wanted to hug him. A real life hero.”
