An transgender man fitted with a bionic penis has lost his virginity four years after the operation.
Lee Carter has spoken about what happened after he spent a night with his girlfriend in a hotel last month.
The 49-year-old spent 40 years trapped in the wrong body and said sex with his £60,000 male body was ‘amazing’.
His bionic penis was built using skin from him arm and features a pump inside a silicone testicle to make him erect.
He said: ‘I waited a long time, but it was worth it. It was incredible and we both enjoyed it so much we didn’t stop all night.
‘And then we started again in the morning.’
Lee believes living as a woman called Lisa for most of his life would make him a good lover, and his now partner Leanne agrees.
She said: ‘We were both a bit nervous but it was wonderful and I couldn’t be happier.’
The couple met after separated mum of two Leanne, 36, contacted Lee, having read about him in the press.
She contacted him via Facebook to say she had read his story and purchased his book called Living With Lisa which details his transition from female to male and the pair began chatting.
Lee said: ‘We both felt a really strong connection to each other. I knew she was the one and she felt the same.’
They spoke daily until Lee surprised Leanne by driving 200 miles from his home in Clacton and booking into a hotel near her home.
Lee had previously turned down offers of sex because he wanted to meet the right woman to lose his male virginity too. He knew Leanne was that woman.
He said: ‘It just felt right. I had to see her. When I called her a told her where I was she came straight over.’
The pair met in the bar and went for a meal and drinks before going upstairs to Lee’s hotel room.
His bionic penis which was fitted in 2012 completing his gender surgery, is operated via a pump in a silicone testicle.
Lee said: ‘I was nervous but a few beers definitely helped. I knew everything worked but it was just because it was the first time with a woman.
‘I couldn’t believe it was finally happening and I was losing my virginity as a man, but more importantly with someone whom I cared deeply about and who felt the same about me.’
They have since spent weekends together and talk daily. Childcare worker Leanne says they are talking about moving in together.
She said: ‘Lee is a lovely guy and I am lucky to have met him. It wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable because I already knew what he had been through from reading his book.
‘He’s just a normal guy who also happens to be thoughtful, romantic, sensitive and kind, what’s not to love.’
It took him three years to transition and five operations.
